With the rapid development of science and technology, laser gyro has been quitewidely used in military, aerospace and industrial markets, showing a huge marketpotential and a good prospect. However, the development of high-precision laser gyrois unsatisfactory because there are serval laser gyro errors and these errors often haveinfluence with each other. Therefore, it is very necessary to study the causes of errorsand the results of them.Among these errors, bias is one of the three biggest laser gyro errors. As theclosely parameter to accuracy of laser gyro, bias is the most direct and difficultproblem for the precision of laser gyro. At present, how to make a better analyze forthe generation mechanism of bias and how to reduce the generation of bias byhardware and software have became a very important research area.In this paper, according to the scanning bias data of a laser gyro, we attempted tomodel the formation mechanism of the bias and designed two different calculationmodels. Then, the simulation results of characteristics for bias were given comparedwith the actual scanning results. At the end of this paper, the direction of futureresearch work was also indicated.
