Laser gyro has lots of advantages, such as high response speed, wide dynamicdetecting range, good linearity, little dynamic error, high precision, high reliability andso on. Developed countries have developed LSINS (Laser gyro strap-down inertialnavigation system) with high precision and applied it in the fields of aviation andnavigation popularly. So it becomes an important system of modern planes, warshipsand nuclear submarines.Power attenuation is an important parameter to influence the performance of thelaser gyro, and plays a decisive role of researching, developing and manufacturing.Based on the analysis of the measured data of the polarization state of the laser gyro, amethod to estimate the power attenuation by use of the measured data is proposed,eventually. That is to say, the performance of laser gyro is reflected by measuring someof the polarization states of the field, approximately.The technologies, on the basis of parameter measurement, which can in the case ofreflecting performance of the laser gyro is improved, approximately. As a result, theprediction of performance by measuring parameter of polarization state of laser gyro,which has unknown power attenuation, is discussed.In addition, the level of precision of laser gyros is improved by hard-working.These researches, helpful for data collection and other aspects of the inertial navigationsystem, with which the laser gyro as the core component, are of huge national defenseand civilian importance. The results obtained are predicted to provide a useful tool forpractical work.
