Based on the Saudi Arabia General Flat Wagon--the export project of CSR Yangtze., LTD., the thesis carries out a system research which first summaries the main purposes and characteristics of railway flat wagon, development status of domestic and foreign general flat wagon and the project background of the Saudi Arabia General Flat Wagon.Saudi Arabia General Flat Wagon requires that a single car can load25m long standard UIC60kg rail and can satisfy the loading of40ft standard container, ordinary two axle bogie is used, and the structure strength of the main parts of the wagon should meet the AAR standard.The research shows that the high technical standard and the great degree of difficulty of Saudi Arabia General Flat Wagon offer a powerful supplement to the company’s product line and will be a good opportunity to integrate with the world, while through the project research and vehicle structure design, the use of the advanced international standard and design method can help bring good experiences of export project in domestic product design so as to average up domestic product industry.Based on the main technical requirements of the Saudi Arabia General Flat Wagon, the paper begins with the design parameters and the selection of the structure, offers new general flat wagon to adapt to Saudi Arabia on the basis on general flat wagon home and abroad. And the paper determines the overall design scheme of the vehicle and makes the corresponding boundary condition analysis and calculation after the selection analysis of several proposals, structure optimization and container lock investigation.The paper believes that the design of rail flat wagon should not only meet the requirement of static strength of car body, but also make prediction of the fatigue life of the car body so as to improve the serviceability of the wagon.In order to make the design of wagon structure meet the requirement of reliability, after the finalization of the design proposal, the paper carries on a series of researches, including car body static strength calculation, car body fatigue life calculation, and the stress state and service life are studied on the basis of the AAR standard railway truck body static strength and fatigue life prediction system.At last, this paper introduces in detail the body static strength test and method, test process and test results, compares the calculation results, and puts forward the conclusion and suggestions for theoretical calculation and experiment.The paper guarantees the rationality of the design and application of the reliability from calculation and test.The above research plays a significant role in meeting the requirements of Saudi Arabia in the development of general flat wagon.
