Reactor is a main electrical equipment in transmission system. It is found that the noise of oil-immersed reactors is loud in the running process, but it has never a systematic study and found the source of the noise on theory. The author attempted to analyze of the cause of the vibration and noise source from the theoretical by testing measurements and using finite element simulation method. Finally, the author put forward a reasonable reactor design.This paper briefly described the basic structure of the reactor. By way of measuring the vibration and noise of a particular model single-phase oil-immersed reactor, finite element method calculation of the oil-tank and the core structure, calculating the sound pressure for the first time. We got the following results:The form of magnetic force is in the up-and-down on the surface of a single iron core cake, the form of force distribution is smaller on both sides and bigger on middle location, but the difference is not great. It can be seen as a uniform force in structure calculations. Reactors abnormal noise to be measured is not increase in the vibration of the tank, but caused by changes in the core structure, most of the measured noise was reactor core radiated. The reactor vibration is in the form of based on the fundamental frequency100Hz vibration, but not a common positive harmonic. We must to consider the role of fluid-structure interaction in the calculation of the oil-tank. The tank has a lower natural frequency and front8order all less than50Hz. If the case what local resonance was not consider, resonance does not occur. The vibration of the core must to consider the influence of magnetostriction, the deformation of the core is the overall upward, on both sides of the large deformation, a small intermediate deformation. The core is the main source of vibration, but the sound pressure is smaller than the oil tank on vibration, it is not the main source of noise under normal operating conditions. The oil-tank vibration is in the form of based on the fundamental frequency100Hz vibration, compared with the core vibration noisy, oil-tank is reactor noise sources.This paper theoretically confirm the source of vibration is the reactor core, but not the main source of noise,oil-tank is the main source of noise.
