This paper, taking cement mixer truck cab for example and based on the experiment,research on the cab noise controlling and reduction through finite element method.At first, considering the noise and vibration source outside the cab and the actualoperating of the mixer, build a reasonable noise analysis model and a more comprehensivefluid-structure coupled finite element model of the cab.Then, through the mode and harmonic response analysis, we can know that relationshipbetween main source of noise in the cab and sensitivity of the noise in the right ear of thedriver to sound absorption characteristics of the panel of the cab and propose a improvementprogram for noise reduction based on the analysis result.At last, modify the finite element model and analyze noise reduction after theimprovement program to judge whether this program can meet the requirement..Comparing the simulation result and the experiment, we can found:1. the noise in theunmodified cab and improved cab gained by simulation are close to the experiment;2. In theimproved cab, the noise in the low and high frequencies has decreased and the A-weightednoise (73.4dBA) reduce3.5dBA, beside that, the noise value and the1/3octave curve gainedby simulation is also close to the experiment. The result prove the correct of the method ofnoise analysis and forecasting and the effectiveness of the improvement program. At the sametime it also be some reference for the noise study.
