With the accelerating progress of urbanization and the rapid development ofeconomic construction in our country, the amount of all kinds of automobiles isincreasing. Urban traffic congestion occurs frequently, which greatly restricts theeconomic development. It is imperative to ease the traffic situation. Urban roadintersection as a key to a road plays an important role in transportation system. Theyhave been several bottlenecks. Due to driver’s driving behavior has significantcharacteristics and traffic habits, led to the vehicle change lanes and controlling, tojump the queue, or retrograde, running red lights and oppression from pedestrian trafficareas such as easy to cause the traffic conflict or a traffic accident under driveroperating in Intersection area, and led to lowering traffic capacity and increasing delayof intersections. So the improvement of the design of the intersection is vital to betterthe road network capacity, reduce vehicle and pedestrian delay time, the effectiveanalysis of driving behavior characteristics.Intersection is the basic node of urban road network. The vehicles choose turn left,go straight or turn right in the intersection. It also has a large number of pedestrianscross the street near the intersection, and easy occurs to conflict. This paper analyze thetypes of intersection conflict and characteristics of this conflict, study the positiondistribution of conflict vehicle-vehicle and pedestrian-pedestrian in a controlledintersection and signal intersection, to get the principle and effective measures ofelimination the conflict.Paper main research conclusions and achievements are as follows:This paper introduces the concept of the intersection traffic conflicts, study theposition distribution of conflict vehicle-vehicle and pedestrians-pedestrians in acontrolled intersection and signal intersection, to get the principle and effectivemeasures of elimination the conflict.The paper introduces function,composition, test equipment installation anddebugging of Vbox system’s, according to the test it assure the three traffic conflictzones, including go straight, turn left, turn right of three cases in the intersection, itrespectively show the changes diagram of the GPS map of each test position,longitudinal vehicle speed, longitudinal acceleration, steering angle. All this parameters from the experiment are the premises for studying with the cellular automation whichwill find the effects of pedestrians traffic flow on the traffic capacity of theintersections.The paper uses the theory of cellular automata to simulate in the area of conflict.According to distributed regularity of the speed, acceleration and rotational angle ofsteering wheel that VBox experimental cars pass the traffic conflict area, we can get thedata messages about the speed of collection, acceleration and rotational angle ofsteering wheel. It made rules of the movement of vehicles and pedestrians. We calculatethe number of the vehicles which has passed the intersection to analyze the effects ofpedestrian flow on the traffic capacity of the intersections.
