"Zen’s Essence Is Nature"Ideology:Analyze The Architecture Works And The Design Ideas About Kengo Kuma

As one of the most famous Japanese architect, Kengo Kuma has a high international reputation. From the1990s of the past century, Kngo Kuma had created nearly100pieces architectural works which are very influence. These works had a profound impact to the world architecture in the today, and also brought many awards for him. With these honors, his architectural works and concept also get more and more attention from the common people.This paper as the study objection of the unique oriental cultural connotation which appears in the Kengo Kuma’s works, analyzing the view of nature, the view of aesthetics, the view of culture what are contain in his architectural creation from the five aspects about the formation of architectural concept, the maturity of the architectural concept, the reflect of the space atmosphere, the exploration of the architectural detail, the interpretation of the architectural style, then having a cognition which is complete and clear to his architectural concept.First of all, the first and the second chapters of this paper elaborates the evolution of architectural concept and the artistic idea of Kengo Kuma, reveals the profound influence of the oriental traditional culture for him. The architectural concept of Kengo Kuma has through the phase of the postmodernism, the view of the resolution architecture, architectural particle, particle building, etc. And the change of these ideas is a reflection to the natural environment, the social economy and the traditional culture, and also embody his cherish and attention to the east architectural culture. Secondly, in the third chapter of the paper, the author begins from the angle of the east culture of the Buddhism, analyzes the expression of the Zen’s artistic conception in the architecture space form, the spatial location, the natural materials about Kengo Kuma, thus also reflects his inherit and development to the eastern culture. As the focus chapter, the end two chapters of this paper express the unified and fusion among architecture, environment and people through analysis the materials, light, structure in the architectural details and the interpretation of the whole style and further showed the view of the eliminate architecture about him.Kengo Kuma is rooted in the soil of the Japanese national culture and creating a lot of architecture space which possess the verve of the eastern culture. His each work always gives an infinite daydream space for person and has a strong resonance for the viewer. He finds a connection about the traditional culture and modern process from the architecture and the environment, space atmosphere and the performance of the natural material, etc. His kind of the architectural philosophy also provides a certain inspiration for the contemporary Chinese architects to discuss the design road which are nationalization.
