Corrugated Steel Plate Structure has high strength, low cost, good durability, fastconstruction, etc.. In foreign countries, a wide range of application and research has beendone. In China, with the promulgation of the industry standard, Corrugated Steel Plate Bridgeand Culvert Structure are gradually recognized and applicated by the traffic industry, but thepresent domestic research fields mainly focus on small round pipe culverts. The research onsmall and medium span bridge structure is not perfected. Corrugated Steel Plate Bridge andthe traditional Masonry Bridges and Concrete Bridge have different character, CorrugatedSteel Plate Bridge belongs to Steel Structure, with large deformation ability, therefore, it isdefined as flexible structure. Due to the interaction of the structure–soil and the constraintfunction of soil on both side of the structure, the bearing capacity of the structure is improveda wide range. The flexible corrugated steel plate structure bridge is different from the maincharacteristics of concrete structure, because of flexibility, which makes the structure indesign, construction and operation stages need to pay more attention to the the mechanicalcharacteristics of the structure.First of all, through the reference of foreign design experience, considering the geometrycharacteristics of Corrugated Steel Plate Structure, the structural internal force analysis ofsimplified mechanics model is put forward. Using relevant mechanics of materials theoreticalcalculation, Corrugated Steel Plate section parameter is calculated. Reference onewayreinforced concrete slab calculation theory and steel structure plate and shell theory,Corrugated Steel Plate can use plane strain analysis model. Considering the backfill nonlinear,steel-soil contact, using ANSYS structural analysis software analyzes the mechanicalcharacteristics of Corrugated Steel Plate Structure.Secondly, according to the simplified model, through practical engineering analysis,eliminate some unreasonable model to verify the correctness of the analysis model. Under theprecondition of a reasonable model, internal force analysis has been done:(1) Axial forcecalculation of the corrugated steel plate structure under the soil load, recommend using soilcolumn method for soil pressure calculation, but the soil gravity on both sides of the structureshould be considered;(2) Axial force and bending moment of the corrugated steel platestructure under the influence of live load is calculated, axial force is the loading force whichdiffuses to the top of the structure, bending moment calculation can be directly inquired thebending moment influence line;(3) Bending moment calculation of corrugated steel platestructure under the soil load references arch structure theory. Through the structural mechanics method to solve structural bending moment problem, but considering theflexibility of the structure, bending moment calculation formula need to be further amended;(4)A simple stability exploration of corrugated steel plate structure is carried out. Structuralstability is the important constituent of the ultimate bearing capacity. The structure’s carryingcapacity is controlled by the buckling load. However buckling analysis is more difficult, stillneed to be further perfected.Finally, through an engineering design example of Corrugated Steel Plate Structure,illustrate the construction measures and requirements in the design phase. The proposedcorrugated steel plate bridge structure stress analysis method was verified. Reference theforeign corrugated steel plate bridge design theory, design method was proposed based on thebridge design code of China. This research results can provide reference for our corrugatedsteel plate bridge structure development.
