The earthquake is "natural enemy" of the human survival and development. Often, thedamage of life and property by a strong earthquake is inestimable. There always haveearthquakes in the southwest of the country, and water project is developing rapidly in pastyears. In this background, study the aseismatic performance of hydraulic structures is necessary. At present, the study of the seismic performance for hydraulic structures, mainly concentratedin the dock, dams and other structure form, in the aspects of ship lock is little. As the mainform of navigation structures, the study of ship lock’s seismic performance should cause higherattention. This paper based on AnGu ship lock, exploring the seismic performance of high-headship lock with integral structure. The purpose is provide reference to the study of ship lock’sseismic performance, especially for high-head ship lock with integral structure. The main research contents is the displacement and stress distribution characteristics ofhigh-head ship lock with integral structure under the comment earthquake. The research asfollows:First, building the model of An-gu ship lock by ANASYS. Discuss the natural vibrationcharacter of the high-head ship lock using modal analysis, to lay the foundation for thedynamic analysis.Second, using the response spectrum analysis which is now widely be used, to calculatethe existing models of structure. Getting the displacement characteristics and stress changing ofhigh-head ship lock which under common earthquake. Calculating the results, and analysis theseismic performance of high-head ship lock.At the end, re-analysis the structure by time history analysis. Compared the result ofresponse spectrum analysis, assessing the advantages and disadvantages of the two analysismethods. Provide recommendations for structural optimization. Conclusions are as following based on the above analysis:①Stiffness distribution of the structure is uniform and reasonable, and seismicperformance is good.②Under the seismic load, the high brake wall of high head ship lock is easier toproduce"Bian Shao effect". There always have great displacement in the far away from thepoint of the consolidation. Chamber structure shape mutations and stress concentration placeeasily produce larger stress. So in the anti-seismic design, should take care of the above area.Recommended properly designed to increase the integrity of the structure or use strengthhigher material for reinforcement. ③The response spectrum analysis and the time history analysis have the advantages anddisadvantages. Which one can be used, is just depend on the actual situation that you faced.
