Research On Transformation And Renovation Of Children’s Park With A Case Of Urumqi Children’s Park

Children’s park is the specialized urban park where children can play games, have fun, do exercises and have science education. Being an essential part of urban public green space, it also plays an important role in ecological, ornamental, disaster preventing as well as aesthetic function. Therefore, children’s park is significant for children’s outdoor exercises. With the increasing development of economics and urbanization, people attach more and more importance on children’s education and living condition, however, traditional children’s parks have several drawbacks such as dreary space, lack of personality and poor management, which can not meet the requirements of children’s, consequently, transformation and renovation of children’s park seems to be necessary. The research was based on the contemporary investigation of transformation and renovation of children’s park and the combination with child development psychology, environmental behavior, Landscape transformation theory and practices, which was aimed at finding a feasible method of transformation and renovation of children’s park in order to make the development of children’s park alive and keep pace with the times, thence, urban children could enjoy a better outdoor exercise space.First, the concepts relative to transformation and renovation of children’s park were defined,. The international current research were analyzed and some unresolved problems were pointed out after the discussion of children’s game theory, children’s playing space theory and international research about the development of children’s park from the aspect of child development psychology and environmental behavior.Second, several important indices were acquired through the study on Urumqi children’s park from the viewpoints of tourists and based on the theories of environmental behavior. Such indices included the condition of urban children’s outdoor exercises, the need of space and incline of preference, the degree of satisfaction about devices and management after visiting, the behavioral habits and demands of tourists, all of which could serve as a reference to come up with measures of transformation and renovation of children’s park.Third, the procedure and method of transformation and renovation of children’s park were discussed, and then a Sustainable development approach was raised through the research of children’s behaviors and transformation tactics of urban park.Last but not the least, the procedure and method of transformation and renovation of children’s park were put into practice to explore the developing trend and build children’s park which is good for children’s development from the analysis of case of transformation and renovation of Urumqi children’s park.
