The Research Of Children’s Park Design&Wangzuo Childrens Park Landscape Design

In this paper, the origin and development of children’s park both at home and abroad arereviewed. Many foreign countries, such as Germany and Japan, have a children’s parkconstruction specifications Ordinance. They also have the world-renowned children’s park, likethe Riemann Park (Germany), Pocket Park (Japan), Ian Potter Foundation Children’s Garden inthe Royal Botanic Gardens (Melbourne), Morton Botanical Garden (the United States).However, compared with the development of children’s park abroad, the development ofchildren’s park in China is relatively slow. With the improvement of living standards, as well asthe increased population proportion of children, the children’s park gets rapid development inChina in recent years, meanwhile some problems has got protruded.Firstly, the dimension specification of activity fields and play facilities were researchedbased on children’s growth. Generally, the minimum length and width of activity field shouldbe at least more than1meter. For the older children, more than1.5meter was necessary. In thisstudy, four age stages were divided from0to18years old. And the play characters andbehavior psychology in different stage were researched. Behavior types of children weresummarized to be static behaviors and dynamic behaviors. This study could provide theoreticalbasis for design of children’s amusement parks.Secondly, the application of unit space and composition space in Children’s park, therefinement and formation of theme creativity, the application form of terrain, water, plants andother landscape elements in Children’s park as well as color matching with contrasting andbright colors were summarized in this paper. Besides, we studied three Children’s parks such asthe Children’s Playground of Beijing Olympic Forest Park, the Ian Potter FoundationChildren’s Garden in the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne, the Riemann Park (Germany) inthe aspects of space type, function zoning, landscape elements utilization and game facilities’designation, from which the techniques of composition space utilization, landscape designation and commonly used landscape form were concluded, thus supplied some practical basementfor children’s park planning and designing.Finally, through participation in the planning and design of Wangzuo Town, children’spark, in line with the site conditions, the theory and design techniques were applied to thespecific planning and design to verify the regularity and rationality of design ideas andtechniques in a children’s park Construction Planning, and constructed a grateful urbanchildren’s park which is suitable for children’s play characteristics and behavior psychology. Itcan be used as guidance in the design of urban children’s playgrounds in the future application.
