| Through several recent survey results of large earthquakes in China, more serious damage occurred in old houses and buildings of masonry. Reinforced concrete buildings, especially the destruction of high-rise reinforced concrete buildings is relatively small. Cavity wall masonry structure is a kind of special structure, because of its simple construction, low cost, so long in many of our relatively low level of economic development are widely used in many areas. However, the construction of cavity wall masonry is not included in the current relevant standard, so research in this area are relatively small. In circumstances of the absence of norms,how to analyze the structure of an empty bucket on masonry wall mechanical behavior for ensuring that the existing masonry wall of an empty bucket the seismic safety, which is the topic of many seismic researchers are more concerning about.In this paper, based on previous studies, cavity wall simulation of masonry structure was made by SAP2000finite element software and software of PKPM, and an engineering instance of the empty bucket masonry structure of the seismic evaluation and strengthening measures.The content of the work done and the conclusions are as follows:(1) Combined with test data of an empty bucket made of masonry structure wall, the different status of the cavity wall finite element model are established for masonry structures. The modal analysis determines its structural response. The results show that the empty bucket masonry structure formation is consistent with general implementation of the main walls of masonry structure.(2) Evaluation of seismic performance of structures is made by response spectrum analysis. The results show that the average wall shear stress of the empty bucket suffered about55%of he same size solid walls under the same intensity; the seismic weak parts of cavity wall focused on window and door openings, floor and wall overlap other parts; Although the cavity wall structure is more complex, but the use of beam, pillar of the traditional structural measures can still achieve the effect of improving the seismic performance.(3) The structure of seismic capacity is checked by PKPM software. The original structure can not meet the seismic requirements of six times by checking different seismic intensity; The bearing capacity of door and window openings on the wall was weakened, the top of the staircase prone to damage, attention should be paid in the design.(4) The relevant aspects of cavity wall masonry seismic evaluation and strengthening measures are discussed with an engineering example. The example show that the plywood walls of reinforced concrete masonry can enhance the empty bucket structural integrity and improve its ductility, the seismic performance of the overall housing is greatly improved.In this paper, the cavity wall seismic performance of masonry structures is assessed by finite element analysis methods. The contents related to the seismic reinforcement of the weak parts also are pointed out and discussed. Finally strengthening methods are discussed by an engineering example of the cavity wall of reinforced concrete building appraisal and plywood wall, it is hoped that this paper could provide some information for the existing housing cavity wall reinforcement design and seismic performance analysis. |
