Strips pavement with special structures and break forms can solve the problemsof road construction in bad construction conditions and undeveloped areas. It canpromote effectively the road construction especially in devious areas. Therefore it ismeaningful to research the theory and application of strips pavement.Based on the research in and aboard, the research surveyed and analyzed thetraffic volume and composing character. The traffic applicability for different formsstrips pavement were researched. Then analyzed the effects of geometry characteristicon the traffic capacity and quality, and presented the design traffic volume of stripspavement at different roadbed width.Studied the characteristic of structure response and destroy model for strips pavementby finite elements method. The design rules of structure composition were putforward. Furthermore, proposed the traffic classification, design methods and controlstandards, and presented the nomogram of structure design and typical structures.More than2km length test road were constructed in Yushu Jilin. Theconstruction technology, organization and quality control in the field were studied andsummarized. Through the observation to the traffic condition and pavementperformance in the one years, the results showed that it is feasible for the use of stripspavement in village road with low traffic volume and reasonable of structure andsection types for test road.In conclusion, as the important part of unobstructed village traffic, the stripspavement can improve the production and life condition, enhance traffic quality ofvillage and promote economy and culture communion. Thus it would have the greatpopularizing prospect.
