China’s automobile manufacturing is developing. The domestic enterprises onceintroduced the product and accomplished the assembly work to improve productiontechnology, In this way, product technology level increases rapidly. The input-output time isshort and the investment risk is small. Obviously,the foreign products for sale are nothigh-end products. As the market competition intensifies and the enhancement of theindependence of foreign brands, their new products for our market are more and moreinclining to the low-end products. This brings high pressure bear on domestic independententerprises. Longer rely on foreign products support comes to be unrealistic for domesticenterprises. The domestic auto companies are forced to travel upstream in productsdevelopment. But the development is not easy. Although the application of new technologiesis critical, corresponding development adapted to the enterprise manufacturing capability iscritical. Developed products also must be able to be batch manufactured. Low-cost andlow-pollution manufacturing process are the key points. So the preparation process becomestotally important.There are two aspects in automobile painting process that can be called preparationprocess. One is the preparing process of the construction of the paint shop, the other is theproduction preparation process during product manufacturing process.As an important partof the automobile manufacturing process, the coating process has some characteristics otherthan the others. For example, the workshop cleaning requirements, high pollution emissions,higher energy consumption, the high running input,etc. Preparations for the construction ofthe new coating plant involves considering all these aspects. There should be craft designs inline with state laws and regulations and also has low-input, low-emission and high-quality.Domestic enterprises who has high level in this area is th fourth mechanical design institute.And foreign enterprises such as Dürr, Germany, Japan Taikisha company are doing best.Production preparation process is responsible for transforming paperbacked products intophysical products. As a good preparation process, it can shorten the product market cycles,expose and eliminate the defects in product design, process design and manufacturing. Theexperience been accumulated in solving the problems can be used in the next project.Coating production preparation process of new products is introducing new productsunder normal circumstances in the existing plant. That involves the transformation andadjustment of the conveying equipments, toolings and spray equipments. There will be nomajor changes in the overall process scheme. It just prepares operating necessities for Massproduction. But has little contribution to the emission reduction. In the new factory, it’s atend to adopt new technologies, new processes to improve product quality, and to reduce emissions in the production process. Its production preparation process needs fit to the newtechnology.In this paper, the above problems are researched. In the first chapter,we mainlyintroduce the current coating process production preparation and energy saving status quo inautomobile manufacturers both at home and abroad. It’s also the purpose of this study.Preparation procedure of new products are described in the second chapter. And the way tointegrate theory with case analysis is used in the various stages of the work and problems tobe solved. The system analyzes the entire preparation process, especially focusing ontravelling through validation, transport equipment modification, paint spraying automaticmachine adjustment, logistics control, etc.In the third chapter we describe the coating qualitycontrol system and its construction.Analyze the coating quality control methods in theprocess of painting, especially refer to the TS16949international standard. In the fourthchapter we compare the energy saving ideas in the coating process design and plantconstruction process, and achieved the optimized results of the preparation process.The fifthpart is the conclusion part.The author works in the coating technology of Department of Production Technology inTianjin FAW for years.He has hosted and participated in several painting projects, includingnew car production preparation process, construction of a new paint shop, and hasaccumulated a lot of experience.Through the analysis and solving of the encountered problems in major projects, thegeneral law for new cars production are revealed.And the improving direction has beendiscussed based on the experience, so we can be better in the next project. The discussion forenergy-saving and emission reduction of new coating factories here are to make payroll forChina’s automobile industry.
