As an ideal vehicle transmission, CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission, CVT) has many advantages, such as simple structure, convenient operation, and excellent performance. At present, foreign CVT technology is well developed, but the domestic State is still in the applied exploratory stage. Recently, Shenyang YueShiDa Mechanical Transmission Institute and Geely Automobile have developed CVT of GL160C type and assembled on the automobile and tested on the road. In order to further improve CVT systems of GL160C type and the diagnosis and maintain two demands have been maddened:on the one hand, the CVT system parameters can be amended for control system programm laypeople; on the other hand, the CVT system can be analyzed for fault. With the use of serial communication technology, the current fault diagnosis technology, the object-oriented programming techniques of PC machine. This paper is mainly about the study of GL160C style continuously variable transmission, which includes the following contents:As the composition and control structure of CVT control system, the structure of serial communication, the applications of the current soft wares of the PC machines are analyzed; the general scheme of the parameter adjustment and Diagnosis of the CVT system is established.When the mechanical structure of the CVT system and the main input and output parameters is analyzed, being adjusted parameters are also analyzed. Based on the analysis of the mechanical, electrical fault of CVT system, the diagnosis strategy is proposed.As the original hardware system circuit board is modified, serial communication lines of the single-chip computer and the PC machine are connected. Because of the Analysis of the serial communication conditions of single-chip computer and the PC, the serial communication protocol is conformed between them. Based on the programming of the single-chip computer and PC, serial communication is completed between them.Based on analysis of the MCU characteristics of the CVT control system, and the use of resources of system parameters, the study of the structural characteristics of MCU control subroutine, the serial communication subroutine of single-chip computer of development system is designed.As making a study of the upper computer development software(Delphi6.0), it’s made of the interface of the CVT development system, which hase many functions, such as parameters of collection, diagnosis, adjustment, continuous display, storage.Through debugging and analysis of the spot, the feasibility of the overall project is confirmed. At the same time, the deficiency of development system is modified, which makes it applies to the practice.
