With the development of science and technology, and the appearance of all kindsof precision electronic equipment, the requirement of electronic utilities for betterquality of power is improving. In this paper, we design a new type of Intelligent PowerMonitoring and Control Terminal with high precision and providing detailed analysisof the quality of power, in order to resolve the problems of poor measurement accuracyand the absence of extensive analysis mentioned above.The requirements of system function and FFT theory are introduced at thebeginning of this thesis, and the feasibility of realizing the function of analyzingharmonic waves in this system is considered to be correct. Employing high precisionand multifunction energy metering IC ADE7878and main microcontroller ICLPC1768as the basic chipset, the analysis of harmonic waves is implemented by theuse of DSP library embedded in LPC1768, and sixteen instantaneous values ofsampled electronic parameters transmitted by IC ADE7878.Secondly, communication with far-away maintenance center is realized, threecontrol from a distance for short, making use of Ethernet interface in IC LPC1768andthe transfer channel provided by Power Line Communication.Finally, the system design is made on hardware and software respectively. Theequipment which could provide exhausted analysis on the quality of power wouldpossess a promising application prospect from the point of view on the trend ofdevelopment in Electric Power Automation.
