Studies Of Automotive Interior Development Process And Lead Time

With the development of automotive industry and consumer market in China,local aesthetics and customer value has been brought into attention increasinglyin the development of auto products. Of all the sub-systems of vehicle, interiorplays the most important role in capturing customer’s intuitive taste. Because ofthe low development cost and capability in China, vehicle interior system tendsto be developed locally in the vehicle development process.This paper concentrates on the establishment of complete interiordevelopment process and lead time. Based on reference to interior developmenttechnology home and abroad, R&D process and program management, thispaper analyses existing problems of PATAC interior programs, prioritizesestablishment of development process, sourcing strategy, integration strategyand program execution methods. The author makes an in-depth and systematicresearch on the organization and management system of interior programs.This paper firstly analyses key factors of simultaneous engineering in interiorprograms. Through the evaluation of engineering synthetic capability of PATACand supplier, and the investigation of complexity and specialty of interior sub-system development, specific evaluation system for synthetic capability ofvehicle supplier of interior is established. Based on the analysis above,combination of advanced purchasing process, interior integration and programmanagement theories, the author makes the feasibility study of interior lead time.Through summarizing the outcome of program running, interior engineeringlead time model and management system has been optimized.The studies of this paper will benefit interior programs from minor change tonew design.
