As the soybean milk machine market is in rapid development phase,with growing market competition, How to accurately grasp market trends,mining potential consumer demand has become an important issue. Thispaper researched the urban youth who is the main group that purchasesoybean milk machine and subdivided them into four groups based on thelifestyle theory. According to four factors-the reasons for drinking soymilk, drinking age, attitude to soybean milk and what to consider whenbuy a soybean machine–the different demands were figured out. Bycomparing their different demand of purpose and drinking way on ofsoymilk, the sub-population and design target was determined as well asconsidering existing products and the market situation.In the design phase, a new design was proposed addressing theeating habit and the situation of drinking soymilk which were find out byinterviewing18target consumer.Cylindrical design of existing products was changed into hingestructure which is the base of new design. Contact area between the cutterand soybean milk was reduced that make it easier to wash. Producingtime was shortened to10min.New design has meted subdivision demand, providing two usagepattern and make cleaning easier, and introduced a new direction andpossibility for the future soymilk machine design.
