In power generation process, the most important thing is to guarantee the safetyand stable operation of the generation units. If unit fault happened, industrialproduction and resident’s life may be hugely impact. People have always researchedfault diagnosis technology in generating set application. However, generator fault typeis various, the faults of the influence factors are complicated, and so the faultdiagnosis brings a lot of difficulties. In the view of the above problems, this paperputs forward a kind of fault diagnosis model based on membership level classification,which can successfully solve the actual plant common faults.In this paper, the generation unit fault types were firstly summarized, and themechanism of all kinds of faults were analyzed. The failure phenomenon and faultvibration characteristics were also introduced, establish level as the basis ofclassification model. Hierarchical classification methods were detailed theoreticalconcept, through the classification data abstraction, establish corresponding evidencepattern, knowledge organization and expression were formed, thus forming completefault diagnosis reasoning, control and explain mechanism. Based on the membershiplevel classification, diagnosis method is for hierarchical classification methodextended application, through setting common faults of the specific analysis,establishing the fault level, hierarchical classification diagnosis model is formed, andthe corresponding knowledge organization and expression were finished, establishedhierarchical classification fault diagnosis model and the purpose of the rules. Finallycompleted application of hierarchical classification diagnosis model in severalcommon unit fault, such as thermal imbalance fault and dynamic unbalance fault, etc.,through the actual fault data of spectrum analysis, failure analysis and amplitude andphase characteristics, successfully find out the source of trouble, and provide a strongevidence for the final solution problem.
