Rotary dryer is a main component of the drying and heating device of asphalt mixingequipment. Flights arrangement in the drying cylinder directly affects the aggregate dryingperformance and the drying cylinder energy consumption. So the research of flight has animportant practical significance to reducing the pollution of the environment and improvingenergy efficient utilization.In this paper, overview the kinematics analysis of aggregate and the development ofdrying model in rotary dryer of asphalt mixing equipment both at home and abroad, analysisthe advantages and disadvantages of a kind of flight, calculation of the particulate material ofthe onset of throwing angle to establish a granular material in the drying cylinder motionmathematical model and the residence time model for granular materials. Then describe twokinds of forms about the flight arrangement, put forward the flight limit range, calculate everysections material shade density, analysis heat and mass transfer principle, then calculate thecombustion process to determine the heat of the three technology areas and the temperature,the heat loss through the drum, the effective use and the consumption rate when fuel burnsand the heat loss from the exhaust gas, then calculate thermal efficiency of the rotary drum.Establish the material and hot flue gas heat transfer mathematical model and the flight numberand exhaust gas temperature relationship: the lower temperature with the increase of the flightnumber, which provide a simple reference model for drying drum flight design.
