Facility Layout Of Comprehensive Passenger Transport Center Transfer Area

With the rapid development of economy, especially the acceleration of the process ofregional economic integration, and the enhancement of inter-city cooperation andcommunication, and the improvement of material and cultural life, travel is becoming moreand more frequent, and the requirement to transport service now not only limited to security,economic, convenient, but also pay more attention to comfort, efficiency and quality. Facingthe increasingly transportation demand, as an important part of the integrated transportationsystem, comprehensive passenger transport center takes a more and more important role.Comprehensive passenger transport center is the organic combination of multiform transportmodes in space and function, and is the main place for the travelers to gather, disperse andtransfer. For a long time, because of the traffic management system, different transport modesare supervised by different industry management department. In the process of thecomprehensive passenger transport center planning and construction, management units paymore attention to their own interests than the integrity of the center, which causes morequestions such as the imperfect of the function and the unreasonable of the scale and layout,resulting in negative effect of the passengers’ gathering, dispersing and transferring. The"Twelfth Five Plan" clearly put forward the construction of comprehensive passengertransport center. And the reform of big department system makes the development ofcomprehensive passenger transport center possible in the management system. Based on theabove analysis, this paper selects the facility layout of comprehensive passenger transportcenter transfer area as the research object.Research on integration of facilities function, size and layout of comprehensivepassenger transport center transfer area is based on the analysis and summary of the existingresearch results. First of all, by defying the concept of comprehensive transport center and itstransfer area, the facilities and functions of the transfer area, as well as pedestrian’s features,demand for space and time, and psychological behavior are analyzed. Combined with thepredictions of the amount of passenger distribution in the comprehensive passenger transportcenter transfer area, the method to determine facility scale is proposed. Secondly, by in-depth studying of the passenger flow line of comprehensive passenger transport center transfer areaand characteristics of space transportation system, the design of facilities layout of transferarea is proposed, including square transfer, hall transfer, vertical transfer, channels transfer,mixed transfer and other basic forms. At last, this research results is used in practical test, inorder to provide some theoretical guidance and practical methods in the process of thecomprehensive passenger transport center facilities layout and traffic organization planningand construction in the future.
