Study On Preparation Of Pavement Material For Microwave Heated Emulsified Asphalt Mixture

Emulsified asphalt is a kind of pavement material with good performance.In this paper, it is analyzed the main influence factors of the process ofproduction, transport, storage, and using condition, which affects the mainproperties of emulsified asphalt. Based on a large number of laboratory tests, itis developed for microwave heating of emulsified asphalt with long term storagefor road construction.Modified emulsified asphalt was prepared through using water-epoxy resinemulsion as modifiers, two different types of emulsifiers and stabilizers wereselected respectively. According to the results of orthogonal experimentaldesign, the optimum contents of each part of modified emulsified asphalt wereobtained. The results of test are as follows: The modification is afteremulsifying, the water temperature is60℃, asphalt temperature is140℃,pH=2.5, the components mix of R1emulsifier is3%(mass percent, samebelow), R2emulsifier is0.5%(External mixing), W1stabilizing agent is3%,W2stabilizing agent is0.3%, modifiers is3%(accounting for5%of the soap lye content)(External mixing), the quality of the prepared modified emulsifiedasphalt could obtained the requirements. It could be used as binding material foremulsified asphalt mixture. By comparing each performance in modifiedemulsified asphalt, it is better than common emulsified asphalt in any aspects ofstorage stability and absorbing of microwaves.Asphalt mixture is designed with the median of AC-13graduation.Meanwhile, it makes the evaluation of the intensity index performance of theemulsified asphalt mixture. As a microwave heating emulsified asphalt mixture,microwave heating is effective for controlling of emulsified asphalt mixture tobreak time, improving the early strength mixtures. By using the correctedMarshall Experiment method, it is the early High strength of emulsion asphaltmixtures by using microwave heating than ordinary hot-mix asphalt mixture. Itis an effective to solve the problem of mixing time controlling. Meanwhile, itcan avoid the waste of materials to ensure construction quality of road surface.
