Highway structures in high altitude area has been affected by freeze-thaw and dry-wetcycle for a long term, lead to some diseases such as crack and surface peeling, whichseriously affect the daily and long run performance of the structures. Aiming at theenvironmental characteristic in high altitude, research was conducted on founadationgrounting and concrete maintenance material, and this is of great significance. The performance of grounting material at low temperature was assessed by a series ofidices such as gel time of the cement-based grouting materials, stability, mobility andmechanical propertiesLow temperature can slow down even cease cement hydration process. So to assure thegrountability of porland cement at low temperature, this paper discussed admixture’sinfluence on the groutability of portland cement such as gel time, bleeding and liquidity toassure it’s groutability at low temperature.Sulphate aluminium cement is applicable to high altitude regions due to its early strengthand early concretion, but the early strengthening will bring quite troubles to constructionwhen it’s applied to grout engineering. Thereby this paper discussed the admixture’s influenceon liquidity, bleeding and gel time. The strength development of portland cement grounting material with admixture andsulphate aluminium cement grounting material with additive were analyzed throughlaboratory experiment in this paper.Research results are mainly consist of two aspects, one is that Portland cement grountingmaterial with compound admixtures and sulphate aluminium cement grounting material withtwo kinds of additives can be used in strengthening engineering in high altitude region, theother is that sulphate aluminium cement has good compatibility with polycarboxyliccopolymer, boric acid, C18H29NaO3S, NaNO2and Li2CO3.
