As a mechanical part, gear is an important part of the mechanical transmission and iswidely used in a variety of mechanical transmission. The working condition of gear is verycomplex and the working environment is relatively poor. So, gear transmission often can notwork properly. In different failure forms, tooth bending fatigue fracture is one of the mainfailure forms of gear failure. With the continuous development of society and industry, thedemand on the quality of gear transmission is more and more higher in industrial production.Meanwhile, the development of market economy requires enterprises to provide high qualityand cheap products. Therefore, we need to precisely calculate the bending stress of gear. Inthis paper, the major research works are as follows:This paper details the specific process of the two methods of calculation of tooth bendingstress in national gear standard. But these two methods are very complicated. It may greatlyincrease the workload of the designer, and reduce work efficiency. This article uses the VisualBasic software and programs to automatic calculate the tooth bending stress and load factors.This article details the principle of gear’s parametric accurate modeling. We could usethe parametric modeling function of Pro/E software, to achieve the parametric accuratemodeling of the standard involute cylinder spur gear. For different gears, we just need tochange the basic parameters of the gears. Then we could quickly obtain the gears’ accuratemodels.This paper uses universal finite element analysis software ANSYS to analyze andcalculate the tooth bending stress of gear. It is proved that the calculation formula of the toothbending stress is correct. Through calculating the tooth bending stress of different gears, andthen compared these calculation results with the results of the two methods of calculation oftooth bending stress in national gear standard. After comparing and data processing, we canaccurately calculate the gear bending stress, and optimize the calculation of the gear bendingstress. And we can also optimize the design of the gear.
