Wagon Tippler is large scale unloading equipment and has advantages of highefficiency, large capacity and complete unloading over other unloading equipments.Hence it can effectively improve working condition, save labor force, reduce cost ofunloading operations, and promote productivity, and is used for unloading powder,granule and bulk materials. Unloading operation of Wagon Tippler is of high level ofmechanization and its automated control process is available. This equipment is widelyapplied for power station, port, metallurgy industry and coal carbonization cokingindustry by modernized enterprises.This thesis is base on the complete equipment project of2x500MW steam-powerplant in India built by NHI in2009, complete with Wagon Tippler. In order to solve theproblem of different carriage dimensions between India and China, and to meet therequirements of rigidity and strength of carriage with new dimensions, life cycleworking, and minimum manufacturing cost, in this thesis, the carriage dimension ischanged as per Indian standards, and the initial conditions and boundary conditions aredetermined according to geographical condition on site and carriage dimensions. Ansyssoftware is adopted to figure out main steel structure distortion and stress in5differentwork conditions, as well as steadfast frequency of the first10steps. The result indicatesthat there is still margin in terms of rigidity and strength of Wagon Tippler main steelstructure. On the basis of project experience and relevant standards, the optimized mainsteel structure weight is reduced by25%due to the optimization design in the thesis.The calculation result of main steel structure fatigue limit indicates its life cycle of30years.The application of optimized Wagon Tippler based on this thesis indicates theoptimization design is practical.
