With the strengthening degree of the continuous improvement of internal combustionengines and the rise of modern internal combustion engine’s power per liter, heat load ofcomponent parts also increase. In the internal combustion engine work process, thecylinder head withstand a variety of alternating loads (Pre tightening force, explosionpressure of gas etc), at the same time there is a high heat load on cylinder head, so it’soperating conditions is the worst part of internal combustion engine. Therefore he strengthof the reliability of the diesel especially the cylinder head has been a key issue in thedesign of internal combustion engines, thermal and mechanical stresses which affect theengine performance and reliability of the key factors. Therefore, study the fluid-structureinteraction conditions stress distribution of cylinder head strength for improved reliability, optimization and guide the cooling system design is of great significance.Based on the reading of a large number of literatures, this thesis introduced theresearch states of the Thermo-Mechanical Coupling. The three-dimensional model ofdiesel was set up and the CFD calculation of cooling system and combustion wereprocessed, analysis the calculation result and take the thermal boundary from the CFDcalculation, the author simulated the diesel temperature field of this type. And simulatedthe stress field of diesel by FEM software ABAQUS.Though the temperaturemeasurement tests on cylinder head, the thermal conditions are analyzed and the resultsare obtained for comparison with simulation. At last the author simulate the stress field ofdiesel of this type base on a number of loads included the thermal field. The calculated results were well in agreement with the measured values, it is showthat the coupled calculations were accurate sufficiently; using the coupled calculation, thispaper simulated the temperature field and the stress field of a type of diesel. In addition, the thesis provided some improvement suggestions for further optimum design of this typeof diesel.
