A technology for retrofitting damaged reinforced concrete(RC) frames withprefabricated heat-insulation sandwich wall panels(PHSW) is proposed to meet theurgent need of rapid retrofitting of damaged structures after earthquake. The PHSW iscomprised bye two pieces of RC wall panels at the outside and one piece of foampanel in the middle.Two PHSWs and one RC shear wall were tested under cyclic loading to investigatethe influence of reinforcement ratio to the seismic behavior of PHSWs and theperformance difference between PHSWs and RC shear walls. The failure modes,hysteretic characteristics, deformation capacity and load carrying capacity wereanalyzed based on test data. It is indicated that:(1) the RC wall panels of the PHSWcooperated together well;(2) the cracking load of PHSWs was higher than the RCwall.Four damaged RC frame retrofitted by PHSW were tested under cyclic loading toinvestigate the influence of the connection details between PHSW and the damagedframe, reinforcement ratio of PHSWs to the seismic behavior of retrofitted specimens.The failure modes, hysteretic curves, skeleton curves, stiffness and strengthdeterioration were analyzed. Experimental study indicated that:(1) the strength ofretrofitted frames using PHSW was remarkably enhanced;(2) the shear strength ofretrofitted frames, the connection details between PHSW and the damaged framewere the main parameters which affected the strength of the specimens.The calculation formula of strength and stiffness and restoring force model of theretrofitted frames with PHSW was proposed based on the mechanism analysis of thespecimens. Elastic-plastic analysis method for seismic responses of infilled RC frameis studied. To research the effect of configuration of infill wall on RC framestructure, push-over analysis of4and12storey RC infilled frame were carried out. Based on the calculation results, the period-reduction factor, bearing capacity,distribution of plastic hinge and performance point were investigated.
