With the development of the national economy, car ownership inChina is growing explosively, which brings opportunities and challengesat the same time. China tend to be more energy-intensive and its foreigndependence ratio of oil is affecting national energy security.Environmental stress appears gradually. Fog haze weather occursfrequently. China however says that its Copenhagen pledge to cut2005levels of carbon intensity by40to45percent before the end of thisdecade makes hydropower the best option.
