Because of CFST arch bridge has the advantage of high capacity, good ductility andtoughness, easy construction and economic effects, but also coincides with China’s large-scaletransport infrastructure construction period, the bridge type is in the domestic development ofrapid and extensive. But there are still many aspects of research inadequate. Span andcapacity has been increased with the increase in the number, the stiffness is also more andmore softer, as the pressure-based structure, stability is becoming one of the key factor whichrestrict its development. Therefore, the research of the stability of CFST arch bridge has avery important significance.Firstly, this paper analyzes the course of development of the arch and concrete filled steeltubular arch bridge and the status of the structure’s stability; Secondly, this paper detailedstability analysis theory, given the finite element method of the two types of stabilityproblems, arch stability analysis methods, including flexion and roll in the arch planeinstability critical load calculation method; Once more, as the simplified Concrete Filled SteelTube for the study, to establish the finite element model, respectively analyzed the radial crossstruts and tangential cross-brace arrangement location, layout number, arranged in the formand the stiffness of the structural stability; At last, Based on linear theory of elastic stability, alarge general-purpose finite element software MIDAS/Civil6.71tools,and practicalengineering in the real bridge, the elastic stability problem using a reasonable model of thebridge a variety of conditions are calculated and analysis, respectively, under variousconditions of stability factor of safety and buckling modes, and cross struts layoutoptimization, has been optimized the stability factor of safety and buckling modes. The articlesuggests we should be based on the actual situation, the structural design goals of the variousparameters of the request, select a reasonable cross-brace arrangement form is recommended.
