In recent years, because of the advantage the high carrying capacity, aesthetic appearance, convenient construction, a large number of the concrete-filled steel tube arch bridges appear in china. A lot of experts and scholars engaged in bridge research have done a lot of research on the static properties and dynamic properties of the concrete-filled steel tube arch bridges. Its stability analysis and seismic response analysis is particularly valued. Later brace is a part of the concrete-filled steel tube arch bridges and its impact on the stability and seismic response is worth studying.This paper describes the development of the concrete-filled steel tube arch bridges, its stability, seismic response and the influence of lateral brace. And it analyzes the classification of the stability, analytical methods and basic equations of the vertical and lateral bucking of the arch. Finally, according to the real project, the finite element method is introduced. By the finite element method, it analyses the influence which the position of the lateral brace, the number of the lateral brace and the form of the lateral brace have on the stability by bucking analysis. In the linear elastic range, it analyses the influence which the position of the brace, the number of the lateral brace and the form of the lateral brace have on seismic response by the dynamic time-history analysis.The results of the analysis show that horizontal stiffness of the concrete-filled steel tube arch bridge is more than vertical stiffness. Its stability meets the requirements of the standard. As for the structural stability, the position of the lateral brace and the number of the lateral brace effectively increase horizontal stiffness and lateral stability. As for lateral stability, “X”, “K” and “米’lateral brace are similar. As for seismic response, the position and the number of the lateral brace have great influence on seismic response. As for seismic response,“X”, “K” and “米’ lateral brace are similar. In the choice of the lateral brace, it firstly chooses “K” lateral brace and “X” lateral brace, without considering the impact of remaining factors.
