At present,in road construction,subgrade strength has been more and more concerned.Inloess areas,loess is the main material for subgrade building,but the CBR value of natural loesscannot achieve the requirements of high-grade roads. By adding lime,improving compactionand other measures can raise the CBR value of compacted soil to a certain extent,but they arealways diseconomy and discontent.Because of the different formed loess strata,theengineering properties of each loess layer are various.Firstly,this paper,based on Renjiapo typical loess section116layers of loess strata inBailu Plain,Shannxi Province,through CBR laboratory test,has obtained the loess’s CBRvalue of each layer after100%compacted,also analyses the change law of this value with thevariation of each typical loess layer.Secondly,according to the loess formation era,we select each one layer of paleosol andloess from Q1(loess of Wucheng),Q2(loess of Lishi),Q3(loess of Malan),Q4(recently depositedloess),test out their CBR value when compaction is90%,95%,99%,then based on obtainedcoefficient,calculate out each layer’s CBR when the compaction is90%,95%,99%.Finally,this paper analyzes the different immersion time,compaction’s influence onCBR value.
