Study On Swelling, Disintegration And Strength Testes Of The Metamorphic Soft Rock In Shi-Tian Highway

There are many metamorphic soft rocks in Shi-Tian highway, if we can fully understandthe character of the metamorphic soft rock, when the same metamorphic soft rock was used tobe roadbed filler, we can reduce the highway construction cost greatly, and protect the localecological environment effectively. From the current research situation of the metamorphicsoft rock, there are few researches on the material composition and performance, whichseverely impeded the application of the character of the metamorphic soft rock in engineeringconstruction. Bases on the metamorphic soft rock of Shi-Tian highway and through a series oftests, this paper conducted research on swelling, disintegration and strength properties ofmetamorphic soft rock, and draw the following achievements:1. Grinding slice electron instrument was used to make the analysis of mineralcomposition, and names have also been put on. Bases on the distribution character of themetamorphic soft rock in Shi-Tian highway, there are some forms, for example: phyllite,quartzite, mylonite, schist which is widely distributed. With analyzing the content of mineralcomposition and structure characteristics, no hydrophilic mineral in the rock of the Shi-Tianhighway can be reached.2. The swelling test of the metamorphic soft rock can be used to get the water absorptionrate, free swelling ratio, swelling force and loaded swelling force of600Kpa. With comparingand analyzing these indexes, the laws can be found, such as: the quality of metamorphic softrock is very good as the roadbed filler, and the rock doesn’t have the swelling basically.3. The enduring collapse test of the metamorphic soft rock can be used to get the indexesafter20times drying and wetting cycle. With analyzing the indexes, the wear of themetamorphic soft rock is very high in Shi-Tian highway, and the disintegration is smaller.These researches are good at the success of project. With analyzing the test datum, therelativity between the enduring collapse index and disintegrative time can be got; in themeantime, the relation between the difference of enduring collapse index and disintegrativetime in the same metamorphic soft rock can be summed up. 4. With the point load test of the metamorphic soft rock, when the metamorphic softrocks were air-dried condition and soaked in the water24hours,7days,30days,180days,the point load strength can be got, and the law that the point load strength of the metamorphicsoft rock is reduced with the length of soaking time can be found.The results can be provided for roadbed filler.
