Since years ago, with the grid scale expanding extremely fast and the frequentchanges of the operation mode, on-line relay settings verification is paid more and moreattention by the dispatch people. In the on-line settings verification, on-line operationmode acquisition is the foundation, real-time data matching between EMS and theon-line verification system is the precondition and on-line breakpoint searching is theengineering requirement. Above three are of important significance to the research anddevelopment of the relay settings verification. So, this thesis has investigated threeaspects in all: on-line operation mode acquisition, real-time data matching and on-linebreakpoint searching.Methodology of acquiring EMS current operation mode based on CIM model andconnection analysis is suggested in on-line operation mode acquisition. Thismethodology makes it possible to get on-line EMS data across different security regions,which will be stored in the form of a leveled and classified chain table. CIM grid modelis also developed in order to assure the generality of the grid model and reduce the scaleof power grid. Connection analysis is performed through extensive priority searchingmethod, which will tell the off/on state of each element as well as the system operationmode as a whole.This thesis comes up with a new method based on improved editing distance used inreal-time data matching. It adopts edit distance to judge the level of similarity, andimproves the traditional matching method from five aspects, that is, weights moving,spelling index, exchange operation, adjacent spaces and level association, which willimprove the matching rate and accuracy between EMS and the settings verificationsystem, thus minimize the manual involvement in a great degree.When comes to on-line searching of the break points, a fast searching method isproposed based on relay coordination and tracing technology. It uses the results of connection analysis to find the dimension of divided regions and minimal break pointssets, and by so to assure the correctness of the set obtained. According to the types oftopology changes and their range, the method will update the divided regions and verifythe break points set. And then, the affected scope resulted from the topology change willbe found based on the relay coordination and the optimal break point will be locatedusing the tracing technology.
