The stepper motor as one of the large number of motor, because of its good controlperformance, with good control accuracy and system stability, and were more and morewidely applied, the stepper motor had become the third largest category motor except theDC motor and AC motor. There were many shortcomings in the existing domestic andinternational features of the stepper motor test, including simplified the test system, testdata accuracy and data management aspects to be developed and researched. On this basis,the article had developed a complete stepper motor test system.First, after the analysis of the existing motor test program, proposed based on PLCcontrol and used hysteresis brake as automatic load test program, detailed analyzed thefeasibility and effectiveness of the system, and analyzed the measurement principles andmethods of key parameters such as speed and torque.Secondly, according to the development of the system test plan, designed the mechani-cal platform of the motor test focus on analyzed the selection of the major components,including the hysteresis brake, torque sensors, etc. Detailed analyzed the mechanicalstructure and installation of the system, had done the research and design to ensure theeffectiveness and stability of the mechanical system, and detailed introduced the testingmethod of the mechanical tooling.Third, detailed designed and researched the control systems, including PLC controlhardware and software design, testing interface design, as well as data display andmanagement design.Finally, had done the motor temperature experimental research and the torque-frequency characteristics experimental research, detailed analyzed the experiment content,experiment methods and experiment data, and systematic evaluated the design of the testsystem. The results showed that the motor test we had developed were accurate andefficient, and had stable operation, high accuracy and good repeatability.
