As the economy develops and people‘s life goes better, the loads of electricitychanges ups and down heavily during the day and night,this means more and more unitsmust keep developing with this enviroment. The feed water pump system driven bysteam turbine is an important part in the power plant,and hence it is meaningful toresearch the energy-saving principle of turbine-driving pump, the performance data ofdriving turbine and feed water pump and the working substance supply regulation of thedriving turbine under different conditions of electricity loads for better generatingefficiency, which is definitely the aim of this paper.The author used the similarity theory and the given data of the feed water-pump todeduce the formula of pump shaft power under the conditions of both throttle outflowand decrease rev adjustment,which proved the decrease rev adjustment is moreenergy-efficient than that of throttle outflow. Besides,the author deduced the calculationformula of pump head、flow、outflow pressure、speed and shaft power.According to the principle of conservation of energy,the author also discussed thesteam extraction problem with the change of power loads and deduced the calculationformula of steam extraction capacity,made some suggestions about the adjustment ofsteam extraction.In the end, all the theory and calculation results were applied in the case of600MWunit in Yueyang power plant. By the analytic comparisons with the practical performanceof the unit, the series of formula and results proved to be of great value in theengineering calculation and regulation of power plant.
