As an important component of the vacuum switch, vacuum interrupter’s design structure and design quality determines the main properties of the vacuum switch. Vacuum interrupter develops to high-voltage, so its internal insulation level also put forward higher requirements. Compared with the medium voltage, the withstand voltage of the high-voltage vacuum interrupter is more prominent. So the uniform design of the internal electric field of high-voltage vacuum interrupter become one of the important research topics.72.5kV high-voltage vacuum interrupter as the research subjects, paper has explained empirical formulas and calculations of the main components of the vacuum interrupter from both axial and radial directions. This is a source of finite element analysis and optimal design parameters, and also is the parameter data source of the related parts in CAD parametric design system.Secondly, we has briefly introduces the basic theories and methods of the the ANSYS structural modeling analysis and optimization design, conbined the finite element analysis and the optimize-design of ANSYS with72.5kV high-voltage vacuum interrupter design specification, Geometric dimensions as the design variable, the value of the internal electric field intensity as the objective function, based on ANSYS parametric design language APDL and the first-order optimization method, we established the finite element parametric modeling, write structural analysis files and optimize control file with APDL, eventually obtain an optimal design sequence, and compared the results show that the proposed method is effective and feasible.Parametric design is characterized by high-efficiency and practicality, which has become the direction of development of the design. The level of its application directly determines the level of corporate design efficiency and design quality, and the strength of the core competitiveness of enterprises. Finally, we discussed the necessity to create a vacuum interrupter parametric CAD system. With AutoCAD platform, Object ARX2000for the re-development tool, Visual C++6.0Object-oriented high-level development language, Established the parametric model of the high-voltage vacuum interrupter parts, and the framework and content of the vacuum interrupter CAD system in accordance with the actual needs.
