Low tower cable-stayed bridge is a new type of hybrid structure betweencontinuous bridge and cable-stayed bridge which have rigid and flexiblecharacteristics.Since low tower cable-stayed bridge emerged twenty years,it hasdeveloped rapidly at home and abroad because of its many advantages.But itsdesign basicalllly refer to the theory of the existing continuous bridge andcable-stayed bridge,besides,the special oretical research about low towercable-stayed bridge is relatively less than others.This paper took Qiu Puhe Bridgeconsteuction monitoring which is under construction as engineeringbackground,studied the mechanism of low tower cable-stayed bridge in order toprovide a theoretical basis for monitring project.Firstly,this article reviewed the origin,development and research situation athome and abroad about low tower cable-stayed bridge,summarized its systemclassification and force characteristics,briefly introduced structural characteristicsof it.Using a finite element software called Midas/Civil built up calculation modelof Qiu Puhe Bridge and analyzed its property.This paper focoued on analyzing thestructural behavior at the stages as follows:the maximum twin cantilever,bridgefinished ten years and using phase.Research showed that Qiu Puhe low towercable-stayed Bridge’s overall force characteristics close to the continuous bridge.Soit can refer to continuous bridge’s construction control.There are many design parameters which influence low tower cable-stayedbridge’s mechanical behavior.This paper focoued on analyzing the impact ofnon-cable-stayed length and the ratio of tower height and the main span on the mainbeam’s internal force,deflection and cable’s force,obtained the suitable areas ofnon-cable-stayed length and the ratio of tower height and the main spanQiu Puhe Bridge applied the structure form of tower and beamconsolidation,beam and columns separation.Number zero beam segment located inthe junction of the main beam,tower and bridge columns.This place hadcomplicated structure and force.So this paper used a finite element software calledANSYS,in order to build up the solid model of this position.and analyzedistribution characteristics of the spatial sress with three dimensions anddeformation characteristics.
