In collision accident between car and electric bicycle, the injury causes of cyclists,damage types of vehicle, and the accident distribution of region is one of the priorities ofcurrent car passive safety research. It also includes the improvement of the car’s safety,reducing the casualties, etc. These involves accident analysis, injury biomechanics andvehicles engineering. In view of China’s actual characteristics of road traffic accidents, thispaper focus on analyzing the collision accident between car and electric bicycle, and theprotection of cyclists. It provides a reference for the judicial authentication of our country’sroad traffic accidents and the establishment of safety regulations on vulnerable groups on roadprocessing and road safety regulations formulated.The paper analyzes the electric bicycle traffic accidents, which systematically studies thekinematics characteristic of the accident between car and electric bicycle, as well as thedamage mechanisms of cyclists, etc. It also gives a deep study on the accidents. A conclusionis drawn after all analysis of the state of motion, crash process, crash speed and crash injurybiomechanics. Based on the actual accident database, it also analyzes the distribution of theaccident.The reliability of vehicle safety technology can be proved by collected traffic accidentinformation. And the deep study of the traffic accident investigation is the basis of vehiclepassive safety research and vehicle application engineering. This paper aims to put forwardthe establishment of accident information database. By deeply collecting the traffic accidentinformation, the potential safety hazard can be found. Then the typical collision accidentsample between car and electric bicycle can be collected and formed a collision accidentinformation database which has common points. After assessing the damage degree of bothvehicle and casualty, and analyzing the accident process as well as the injury reason, it canprovide a reference for recall strategy concerning the vehicle quality defection and even bethe direct drive of the recall. The establishment of accident information database, can not onlybe used as the original data for accident reconstruction, but also as a guidance to setting trafficsafety regulations and improving the vehicle safety performance, as well as the proof of thelatter’s effectiveness.Based on the collision characteristics between the car and electric bicycle, the paperanalyzes the cyclist’s state of motion and response feather during the crash through themulti-rigid-body dynamics theory and calculation method, and established themulti-rigid-body model of the collision of car, electric bicycle, and cyclists. With the use ofPC-Crash software, a reconstruction of a typical accident between car and electric bicycle in Chengdu area is established. And the response process of collision kinetics of car and cyclistis reappeared. The paper analyzed the change of collision parameter and injured cyclistparameter in the simulation. The simulation and model are proved to be feasible and accurateby the comparison of simulation results and the practical accident. The simulation resultsshow that cyclist damage varies from collision speed, vehicle types and vehicle front structureparameters. This conclusion can help to seek the measures and methods of reducing thedamage of cyclists, as well as to provide an important reference to protecting the electricbicycle rider on road and a rapid processing of traffic accidents.
