Along with the rapid development of vehicle industry, CAE technology is widely usedin designing vehicle products and plays a very important function in R&D and laterimprovement. Using FEA method to analyze the performances of the vehicle componentscan provide academic gist for later improvement and reference database. It can also shortenthe exploiting cycle of the vehicle products and reduce the cost of R&D.This item is a sub item of special type vehicle which belongs to a Beijing vehiclecompany. We analyze the frame by FEA method and get the result and then based on theresult, optimize the local parts of the frame. The work offers the academic reference anddatabase support for the later designing and improvement.This article introduces the basic design of the frame structure simply, building the3-Dgeometric model by UG software, importing the geometric model to Hyperworks softwareand doing same prophase work like drawing out the middle face of the model, plotting outthe grids, simulating the jointing, appending the material property and so on, then formingthe finite element model, at last putting the model in Abaqus software to do some analysis.The work of analyzing and computing are mode, strength and stiffness. And we do a lot ofwork in analyzing the strength. There are four type conditions in the article, includingbending condition when running on the road which has20°bevel, torsion condition on thetwisting road which has balks, emergent braking condition and emergent turning condition.Based on the front analyzing result, using the stress counteracting and decomposingmethods to improve the frame structure and analyze the improved frame again. Bycontrasting the analyzing results of the frame amended before and later, found amendedframe is more reasonable and reached amending aim.
