Soil nail retaining system is a kind of relatively common support form inthe foundation and slope supporting engineering.In the pit, the slope engineering,soil nail retaining system is a relatively common support form.This form ofsupporting is widely used in engineering practice due to its quick constructionspeed,simple operation and safety economy. As the development of geotechnicalreinforcement technique,the new type composite retaining structure is developedusing soil nail and soil anchor rod supporting system along with geotechnicalcomposite materials. The internal force analysis of soil nail retaining systemwith surface setting horizontal beam is the main line of the thesis. Usingtheoretical analysis and numerical simulation methods,combined withengineering example calculation,doing some research on soil nail forces anddeformation of soil nail retaining system with surface setting horizontal beamsconsidering soil arching effect. This paper mainly includes the followingsections:1.Analyzed the formation mechanism and species of the soil arching effectof soil nail retaining system with surface setting horizontal beams.According tothree hinge arch theory of the structural mechanics,analyzed the soil archingforces and gave the stress calculation formula at soil arching feet.2.Analyzed the mechanism of the interaction between soil nail and soil.Themaximum shaft of soil nail forces occurs in neutral place,namely soil nail forcefor design value.Established a calculation model based on the soil archingeffect,and gave the soil nail forces calculation formula.3.Analyzed the deformation mechanism of soil nail retaining system,considering soil arching effect,midspan horizontal deformation of beamsbetween two level soil nails is the deformation of soil nail retaining system.Derived the theoretical formula by means of establishing calculation model.4.Through the project examples,the design methods which comes from theresearch results above are applied to a practical project,and the theoreticalanalysis results are coincide with the field monitoring results.By applying thefinite difference analysis software,FLAC3D,simulated the soil nail retaining system with surface setting horizontal beams,the results are coincide betweensimulated and analyzed on the thesis.This paper concluded the soil nail forces and deformation formula based onsoil arching effect.This paper offered a new approach for soil nail retainingsystem,which has a great theoretical and practical significance for studying onthe mechanism of soil nail retaining system.
