Condensation of wet steam flow widely exists in electric power system and dynamicsystem. Wet steam must be dehumidified by water separation technology to ensure the systemsafe and efficient. At present, corrugated plates separator as end-stage separation equipmenthave extensively application. To provide qualified steam and effectively improve thesteam-water separation performance of corrugated plates, it’s necessary to study flowcharacteristic of wet steam condensation in corrugated plates separator.In this paper, the numerical model of wet steam condensing flow is built. Euler-Eulergoverning equations are used to describing flow characteristic of two phase flow, andnumerical model is solved by TVD discretization scheme. Meanwhile, reference bothclassical nucleation theory and droplet growth model, process of steam condensation incorrugated plates is described, polymerization efficiency also has been studied by mechanismof droplet aggregation. Besides, by using CFX software, wet steam condensation flow incorrugated plates is simulated. Water droplets condensing model and steam condensing flowtheory both contributed to simulating wet steam condensation and analyzing thecharacteristics of the wet steam condensation. At last of this paper, numerical simulationresults of water droplets condensing model and discrete model (without considering thecondensation) are comparative analysed to obtain the influence on steam flow rate andpressure drop in corrugated plates of condensation. Process of the droplet collision,polymerization and separation in corrugated plates also is simulated and analyzed by MUSIGmodel, and influence of the droplet polymerization on distribution of water droplets withdifferent sizes is studied. Considering both separation efficiency and pressure drop ofcorrugated plates, this paper research on effect of structural parameters of the corrugatedplates on wet steam flow characteristics, and provide a reference for structural improvementof corrugated plates.
