Research On Product Design Process Based On Logistics Cost Control

Many developed country such as Japan, USA etc pay more andmore attention on the logistics cost which now has becoming the thirdmain source of the profit. However, basing on manufacturing industry,most of Chinese enterprises are only engaged in processing trade andOEM, making them only to occupy smallest profit in the whole chain.According to above reason, it is necessary to require Chineseenterprises to research the means of logistic cost control which baseon the condition of improving product design exploitation. Thoughtransport packaging is one of the most important key-points on logisticcost control, packaging design begins after the phase of productexploitation presently that it is easily to generate many problems suchas low container loading rate and lacking of crisp value of the productkey parts etc. If at the beginning phase of product exploitation, we cantake account of influence of logistic cost that the logistics cost will bedecreased maximally. In order to solve these problems, it is imperativeto establish a comprehensive, strategic processes system to guide theproduct development.This research is aimed at the study of product design processbased on logistic cost control, analyzing contemporary logisticsituation, product design process and logistic costs influenced by products design based on the involved studies of home and abroad.Through expert interviews, it summarizes specific factors whichinfluence logistic transport packaging design and target-task-basedquestionnaire. With the analysis of the data, it presents the main effectfactor and the relationship between product design and logistic cost,then establish new product design process based on logistic costcontrol successfully. Eventually, the validity and necessity of thisinnovation process need to be tested by two cases application of officechair and lamp improved packaging.The research pays a great consideration on taking logistic costinto product design as the advisable breakthrough and guides designcases according to the innovative process. The research method has acertain beneficial value on controlling logistic costs at the productdevelopment phase and improving economic interests for enterprises.
