As the social economy develops rapidly and the city size extends constantly, theexploitation toward water resource also is increasing constantly. In the current, alongwith serious shortage of the China water resources, the characteristics and changetrends of water resource in the upper Minjiang River were the people very concernedproblem and deserves thorough research.In the paper, with the concept of sustainable development as the guidingideology, to comprehensive application related principles and the scientific method ofgeological and water resources science. Take the field investigation and indooranalysis combined method to systematic and detailed research for water resources ofthe Minjiang Upriver.In the paper, there are mainly two kinds of the research methods on the basis ofresearch achievement: One kind is be based on the natural environment conditionsand the water resources characteristics, and to research on the regional geologicalbackground of the minjiang upriver. Mainly to analyzed that the ecologicalenvironment conditions, the present situation of water resources utilization, regionalgeological tectonic characteristics, formation lithology characteristics and influence ofWenchuan earthquake on water-source area of the minjiang upriver, sichuan. Theother kind is to research on the sustainable utilization for water resource that thecarrying capacity, optimal allocation and scientific management mode of waterresources on the basic theory of sustainable utilization of water resources. This paperis mainly to study for the effectiveness and accuracy and to analysis research data,calculation method and model. at the same time, to achieve the purpose of sustainableutilization for water resource of the minjiang upriver, and to raise questions ofstrategy and countermeasure of optimal allocation and scientific management, toimprove water resources sustainable development utilization and to achieve economicand social rapid development has the important theoretical value and practicalsignificance.
