The city street system is one of the important symbol of the city’s image, thedegree of intelligence from one level to reflect the level of modernization of the city,but with the rapid socio-economic development, power resources have becomescarce resources, while a considerable portion of electricity consumption the lightingon city street lighting system power consumption is an important part of. Control andmaintenance of the traditional street lights means no longer able to adapt to therequirements of modern urban development, therefore, a high degree of designautomation, reliable running, energy efficient, use and maintenance oflighting-control and management of modern convenient and the amenity lightingcontrol system is a necessary requirement.This article provides insight in the current city of traditional street lights systemon the control and management problems faced by the expanding urban areas, aswell as an increasing number of street light situation, and the increasingly highdemand for intelligent features, by introducing Internet of Things technology to acreate a combination of power line carrier communications, and wireless networkcommunications intelligent street lighting control and management system, thesystem is flexible use of these two means of communication, to design an efficient,cost-effective, energy-saving street light control system.In this paper the design work around build the basic framework of the systemhardware design and software system design to expand. The hardware design of themain design principles and use of the single lamp controllers, signal isolation, andphase coupler.System software and hardware design, test, at the same time, centralizedcommunication controller and the data for single lamp experiment. The experimentalresults show that high system reliability, adaptability, can effectively improve the control of the city street level and save energy up to40%. The mainly target havebeing realized.
