Research On The Landscape Morphology Of Traditional Banpo Type Villages On The Upstream Of Youshui In Hubei And Chongqing Province

Youshui valley is located in the hinterland of Tujia settlements. There are traditional villages with strong regional and national landscape features as a result of its unique natural landform and national culture. Those villages are everywhere to be found, which may stay in mountains, or beside fields, or locate at the bank of streams and so on. Among those villages, the Banpo type villages are most widely distributed with most distinctive landscape features, and also in the largest number. Based on the above considerations, this paper take the Banpo type village on the upstream of Youshui in Hubei and Chongqing province as the research object. According to the investigation of the acquired rich first-hand materials and a large number of literature analysis, the paper selects four typical village, Pengjia village in the XuanEn county, Shemihu in Laifeng, Zhangjiaping and Hewan ancient village in Youyang county. This paper makes research and exploration from different levels in the view of landscape morphology. First of all, the paper make analysis on the whole village from geomantic construction, landscape pattern and layout, and analyses the whole spatial morphology structure of Banpo type village; Secondly, the paper makes elaborate analysis on the whole landscape morphology and elements from three levels of point, line and plane, so as to get the common characteristics and features in landscape morphology construction of Banpo type villages on the upstream of Youshui in Hubei and Chongqing province.This paper makes researches on the landscape morphology of Banpo type villages on the upstream of Youshui in Hubei and Chongqing province from the whole to the element, trying to clear out their common characteristics in construction, so as to provide some reference to the conservation and development, as well as cultural inheritance and development, of village landscape in this region. At the same time, the paper wants to arouse the feelings of belonging and recognition of local people to the national culture.
