As a new style of structure, adjacent structure has been widely applied in construction. It’s significant that dynamic characteristics of adjacent structure were researched.Based on the existing research and the definition of connecting relative rigidity (CRR)and connecting relative height (CRH), ETABS was used to analyze static characteristics of aseries of symmetric and asymmetric double-tower-connected structure. In the dynamic characteristics analysis, a new generation of structural analysis anddesign system MIDAS Building was used to model and analysis the structure. Changingconnecting styles of symmetric double-tower connected structure, CQC method was used intoanalysis. With different connecting styles, dynamic characteristics of adjacent structure werealso compared. Based on the definition of connecting relative rigidity (CRR), CRR is divertedand MIDAS Building was used to model and analysis7models of connected structure. Withdifferent CRR, dynamic characteristics of adjacent structure are also compared. The two towers of asymmetric double-tower adjacent structure divert in structure layout. Its vibration mode is more complicated than symmetric double-tower adjacent structure. Therefore, it’s significant that its dynamic characteristic is under research. Based on thedefinition of connecting relative height (CRH), CRH is diverted and structural analysis anddesign system MIDAS Building is used to model and analysis8models. With different CRH,dynamic characteristics of the structure are also compared to apply references for analysis anddesign of the structure. Analysis show that, changes of CRH have a great impact both on thelower mode and the natural period of asymmetric double-tower adjacent structure. The overalltrend is that natural period decreases as CRH enlarges. At last, MIDAS Building was used to execute elastic dynamic time-history analysis ofa calculation model of symmetric double-tower-connected structure. The different seismicwave input under different angles and different positions of connecting beam was drawn inthe results of time history analysis.
