Guangfu traditional dwelling is located in the tropical region; in this hot and humidclimate environment the house formed its unique ecological ventilation techniques. With therapid modernization today, these traditional dwellings seem to be forgotten. But the buildingis representing the history, culture, beautiful shapes and constructing wisdom; it calls socialattention and is worth architects’ research. The thesis focuses on the ecological ventilation techniques of guangfu traditionaldwellings, relates and analysis the valuable ventilation methods. Use dozens of experimentsand statistics to find out the main principle of winded and heated pressure ventilations. Then, discuss the modern architecture design based on the traditional ventilating methods. The thesis could be separated into four parts.First part (including chapter one): introduction. It relates the foundation of theresearching which including background, objects, concepts and methods.Second part (including chapter two): relates the ecological ventilation constructingexperiences of guangfu traditional dwellings.Third part (including chapter three and four): analyzing the ventilation methods of twomajor guangfu dwelling types which are “bamboo house” and “three rooms with twocorridors”. The specific research includes three aspects: the first is from fluid dynamicsperspective, the second is based on field investigation, and the third is simulating by using thesoftware Fluent. This three supplement each other and discover the substance regularity ofventilation. Simulation and analysis is the important point. The research uses the softwareFluent to simulating and representing the real wind flowing path within the effective space ofhouse. By analyzing the experiments and statistics, conclude the regulation and valuableconstructing methods.Fourth part (including chapter five): discuss the practice of moden architecture inspiredby traditional ventilation methods.
