Pile found is a widely used configuration of pile cluster, many domestic and foreign scholarshad spent lots of time and energy on the researches,but confined to the vertical bearingcapacity of piles to a large extent.In recent decades,due to the needs of the projects,there aremore and more piles withstanding horizontal loads.Therefore,the research about horizontalbearing capacity of piles,especially the horizontal displacement of pile,whose formerreasearch were very little,is very imperative. According to the current study of laterally loadedpile groups and research results in the field at home and abroad,this paper makes in-depthresearch on the property of laterally loaded pile groups by large-scale finite element analysissoftware MIDAS-GTS. The major work of this paper is focused on several aspects as follows:1. Review the appliciation and development of the pile foundation,and analyze thefailure and deformation theory of pile under horizontal loads.2. Summarize the property and calculation methods of laterally loaded pile(includingsingle pile and pile group),and compare the applicable situation of different calculationmethods.Then analyze two effects on the laterally loaded pile under the vertical load.3. Introduce the basic principles of the finite element method,and compare twocommonly used soil elastoplastic constitutive model(M-C model and D-P model).Then,establish a three-dimensional source model about Group-Pile Foundation with GTSin practical engineering(pile foundation under the sliding beam in the immersed tubeprefabricated factory) background.4. On the basis of the source model,by altering the pile spacing,pile diameter, pile capthickness,soil parameters,the size of the horizontal load,the size of the vertical load, the countof pile,the size of the concrete elastic modulus, analyze the influence of the pile displacementand the maximum horizontal displacement of top pile,bending moment and maximumbending moment.5. Through the above model calculation results, provide some specific suggestions to theproject.
