Multi-blade centrifugal fan has small size, large flow coefficient and high pressurecoefficient. Because of these advantages, it has been widely used in the air conditioning system.In recent years, domestic and foreign researchers has mainly studied geometry and designoptimization of the multi-blade centrifugal fan. And they have done some research aboutnumerical simulation and experimental research of the flow field. This paper is mainly toimprove efficiency while reducing fan noise to achieve fan,s integrated optimization. In thispaper, based on product development of an air conditioning company, from the perspective ofnumerical analysis, using commercial ANSYS and FLUENT software to do some optimizedanalysis about the various structural parameters combination of the multi-blade fan. The resultsshow that achieves the optimization goals.Based on the work of previous studies, an optimization design method with multi-objective,mixed-descrete and continuous variable for multi-blade centrifugal fan of the air-condition ispresented in this paper. The main research contents and results are as follows:1、 Establish the optimal mathematical model of multi-blade centrifugal fan of theair-condition. In the optimization model, the efficiency and noise objective function isestablished. Six discrete and continuous parameters of fan are selected as the design variables,which are blade inlet installation angle, blade outlet installation angle, the width of the volute,volute outlet length, leaf number and speed.2、In the method optimization iteration of fan will be carried out through the program basedon ANSYS-APDL in ANSYS. In the process, the functions of ANSYS achieve a good designproblem with a mix discrete and continuous design variables of the optimization solution.Optimization results show that the efficiency can reach81.5%, noise sound power level canachieve142.64dB. More efficient than before optimizing the efficiency of9.6%.Noise powerlevel lower than before optimization1.59dB.3、A three-dimensional model of the optimized fan is created by using ANSYS. Strengthanalysis and modal analysis for the optimized fan are studied. The results show that theoptimized fan meets the design requirements.4、 Establish physical model of the fan of the before and after optimal based onpre-processing software GAMBIT of FLUENT. The multi-blade centrifugal fan of the before and after optimal,s velocity vector and pressure distribution are compared. The results show that theoptimized fan,s speed and pressures have been improved. The results agree with the previousoptimization. So the research methods used in this paper is feasible for the fan, which can beused in similar fan design.
