This paper mainly studies the protection and display design method of spaceof monument as a special type of site.In the first chapter， the paper discusses the research scope, method, purposeand meaning, and analyzes the related basic concepts.In the second chapter， the paper studies the related theory of monument andmemorial space and domestic and foreign examples. The paper mainly analyzes andinterprets memorial space, monument and the memorial space of monument, pointsout the memorial space of monument including the historical space and additionalspace, as well as three kinds of different types. And according to the three types,studies the related domestic and foreign examples.In the third chapter， the paper studies the overall display design of monumentand the protection of historical space, summarizes the principle and method of theoverall display design, the protected object of historical space, as well as theprotection method.In the fourth chapter， the paper studies the display design of historical space,including the elements, level and method of the display design.In the fifth chapter， the paper studies the display design of additional space,including the display types, form design and environment design.In the last chapter， the paper is summarized.
